Gas Leak Temporarily Shuts Down Sam Eig Highway and Washington Blvd.
MCFRS: Gas line struck at a construction site in the 10000 block of Fields Road.
A gas leak at a construction site stymied Thursday afternoon traffic in Gaithersburg, near Washingtonian Center.
The leak was reported at around 3:15 p.m. in the 10000 block of Fields Road. Westbound Sam Eig Highway (Interstate 370) and Washingtonian Boulevard were temporarily shut down, according to Montgomery County Fire & Rescue Service.
Crews determined that a 6-inch gas line had been struck. MCFRS monitored conditions in the area until the gas company clamped off the break. There were no reports of injuries.

Police said the roads reopened at around 4:10 p.m.
