Man Charged With Manslaughter in Fatal Shooting of Gaithersburg Resident

Douglas Antonio Romero Argueta was shot and killed Saturday in Upper Marlboro, MD.

An Oxon Hill man has been charged with manslaughter and first-degree murder in the fatal shooting of a Gaithersburg resident Saturday in Upper Marlboro.

Gaithersburg resident Douglas Antonio Romero Argueta, 29, was found dead at around 10:15 a.m. in the 9600 block of Marlboro Pike. Prince George’s County police said a second shooting victim was critically injured and was taken to the hospital.

Ronte Travell Muhyee, 20, of Oxon Hill, was arrested near the scene of the shooting.

Muhyee was charged with manslaughter, first-degree murder, attempted murder, assault and weapons offenses, according to Prince George’s County District Court records. 

Muhyee is being held without bond, court records show.

A hearing was scheduled for Jan. 16.
