Montgomery Village Fire Displaces 14

A late-Sunday fire in the 18200 block of Kilrush Court caused approximately $250,000 worth of damage.

A fire in the Montgomery Village area of Gaithersburg displaced 14 people from a townhouse complex Sunday night, WUSA 9 reported.

Firefighters responded to the fire in the 18200 block of Kilrush Court around 11 p.m., Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Asst. Chief Scott Graham said. The townhouse showed heavy fire from the second floor and roof before a second alarm was called and firefighters quickly put down the flames from the interior.

All occupants of the blazing townhouse and adjacent homes were evacuated immediately, Graham said, adding no civilians or firefighters were injured in the fire.

Fire officials told WUSA 9 the fire's cause was electrical and accidental and took 66 firefighters to knock down. Four units were damaged, totaling approximately $250,000.
