A motorcyclist died Friday after striking the side of his house in the 20700 block of Highland Hall Drive in Montgomery Village, Montgomery County police said

According to police, Richard Mark Sampson, 44, lost control of a 2002 Suzuki Hayabusa when he turned onto Highland Hall. The motorcycle accelerated, hit the curb, travelled across some grass and struck the side of the house, police said.

The force of that final impact sent Sampson and the motorcycle through one of the home's windows. Minutes later, a police officer found Sampson inside the house, pinned underneath the motorcycle.

Sampson was taken to a local hospital where he died from his injuries.
