Fire spokesman: Derwood incident was one of several around the county early Saturday.

A driver lost control of the car he was driving and flipped on top of a parked car in a driveway in Derwood about 2 a.m. Saturday morning, according to an eyewitness who captured photos of the aftermath of the accident.

The crash occurred at Muncaster Mill Road and Heatherford Court.

A county fire and rescue spokesman confirmed that a vehicle overturned at the intersection, but had few other details.

The incident was one of several accidents around the county in the early morning hours of Saturday, said Assistant Chief Scott Graham of the county fire and rescue service.

Gretchen Kingan, who lives near the scene of the incident, took the photos above and sent the following email to Rockville Patch:

Driver lost control of car flew into and landed on top of parked new car (red) -  force of motion kept it moving out of driveway and the driver's car flipped into rock garden --  Driver said his name was Cody, moved his left arm- which was bloody--and after about 30 mins EMTs were able to remove him from the car--  it appeared the seatbelt was on from our perspective.  The rescue workers had to use blocks and hoses to manuever car-- cutting into it--etc.

That's all we really know.

Six hours later a woman lost control of her car in the same spot but flew left across from Heatherford Ct and into a street sign-- Single car accident.  Her airbags deployed, windshield was smashed (by sign) and she narrowly missed the telephone pole near the Catholic church St. Francis...She also went by ambulance from the scene about 8 AM.

DEAR ME!!   SLOW DOWN AND BE CAREFUL OUT THERE!
