Police Arrest Armed Robbery Suspect

Officials say he robbed a victim at gunpoint in December.

A 24-year-old Gaithersburg man police say robbed a man at gunpoint in December was released on bond today after being arrested yesterday.

Police arrested Torre Desmond Gray Sr. of Girard Street in Gaithersburg on Jan. 25, and charged him with armed robbery, use of a firearm, first degree assault, reckless endangerment, theft less than $1000, credit card theft and attempted credit card theft.

Today, he posted $7,500 bond and was released from the Montgomery County Detention Center where he was being held.

According to police, on Dec. 30 the victim was entering his home in the 300 block of N. Summit Avenue when the suspect approached from behind, pulled out a semi-automatic handgun and demanded the victim's wallet.

The victim complied and the suspect fled on foot before entering a blue car.

Gray has been arrested twice before. 

In 2008 he was arrested for theft under $500, but those charges were dropped.

And in 2007 he was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia, but those charges were not pursued.
