Police Arrest Man For February Stabbing, Robbery

The 21-year-old was arrested on an unrelated charge and then released, before being arrested again.

Gaithersburg Police have arrested a 21-year-old Gaithersburg man for robbing and stabbing a man last month.

Jose Aldaberto Vail, of North Summit Drive, was arrested on March 14 and charged with armed robbery, aggravated assault and attempted theft.

According to police, on Feb. 23, a Hispanic man approached the victim in the unit block of Nina Court, brandished a knife and demanded property.

The victim refused to give the suspect anything and so the suspect stabbed him, police said.

He sustained a minor cut on his lower back, police said.

The suspect then fled on foot.

Vail is currently being held at the Montgomery County Detention Center on $75,000 bond.

According to online court records, Vail was arrested on February 27 and charged with theft between $1,000 and $10,000, and conspiracy to commit theft between $1,000 and $10,000.

He was released the same day on his own recognizance.

Vail has a court appearance scheduled for April 17 in Rockville.
