Police: 'Low-Grade' Explosion Reported at Public Safety Headquarters in Gaithersburg Tuesday

A juvenile is being questioned, a police spokeswoman told Patch .

A juvenile is being questioned after reports of a possible explosion in the parking lot of the Montgomery County Public Safety Headquarters in Gaithersburg on Tuesday.

No one was injured, Montgomery County Police spokeswoman Angela Cruz said.

Cruz said the explosion was reported at around 11 a.m. Bomb technicians searched the property and found evidence of a low-grade explosive—possibly fireworks or or a firecracker, Cruz said.

Police are questioning a juvenile, but no arrests had been made as of Tuesday afternoon, according to Cruz.
