UPDATED: Police Investigate Alleged Rape Near Hadley Farms

A young woman was allegedly raped at Green Farm Conservation Park, behind the Hadley Farms community pool on Monday afternoon.

Update—10:55 a.m.

Detectives from Montgomery County Police Department's Major Crimes Division Tuesday were investigating the report of a rape at the Green Farm Conservation Park, located at 8711 Snouffer School Road in Gaithersburg, according to a news release.

Police said they were called to the park at approximately 5:05 p.m. Monday, July 9 by a 21-year-old female who told police she was at the lake behind Hadley Farms community pool when she was attacked by an unknown male.

The suspect was armed with a knife and sexually assaulted the woman, police said. The suspect was last seen leaving the park on foot in the direction of Brenish Drive.

Hadley Farms Community Manager Debbie Loso said the community has no comment on the alleged incident at this time.

 Police are investigating the sexual assault of a 21-year-old woman in Gaithersburg late Monday afternoon, NBC Washington reported.

The victim said a man dragged her into a wooded area behind the Hadley Farms community swimming pool around 5 p.m. before assaulting her, according to the report. The area is approximately 30 acres and includes a wildlife preserve.

Police said this type of crime is rare in the area and are asking people who use the area around the community facilities to be cautious and report any suspicious activity, Fox 5 reported.
