Police Searching for Attempted Robbery Suspect

He tried to rob the Dollar Deal in Flower Hill.

Police are searching for a man they say tried to rob a Dollar Deal Plus at 18238 Flower Hill Road in Flower Hill on Jan. 29.

He is described as a black male, 5'9 to 6' tall, weighing between 130 and 140lbs. During the attempted robbery he was wearing a red plaid bandana, gray sweatshirt, and dark blue pajama-type pants with small white designs, and sunglasses.

He had a beard and moustache at the time of the attempted robbery, police said.

As the store was opening shortly after 10:30am, police say the suspect entered the store and approached the clerk.

The suspect said he had a gun and demanded the clerk open the register.

The clerk told the suspect he could not, so the suspect took the clerk's personal property, police said.

As the suspect was leaving, the clerk followed, and the two fought, police said.

The suspect fled, leaving the clerk's personal property behind.

The clerk sustained minor injuries during the fight, police reported.
