Police Still Investigating Sunday Shooting, Car Chase On Quince Orchard Road
The suspect has not been formally charged, police said.
Montgomery County police continue to investigate an officer-involved shooting and subsequent car chase Sundaynight on Quince Orchard Road in Gaithersburg.
The suspect remains in the hospital recovering from non-life threatening injuries, police said. He is under arrest but has not been formally charged.
After receiving a tip from Howard County police about a suspect wanted for a domestic incident was in the Gaithersburg area, Montgomery County police officers engaged the suspect in a routine traffic stop at the intersection of Quince Orchard Road and Darnestown Road.
Officers noticed a shotgun in the vehicle and during the traffic stop ,an officer shot the suspect.
The suspect fled in his vehicle before crashing into a car stopped at a red light at the intersection of Quince Orchard Road and Great Seneca Highway.
Police have determined that the suspect in custody is the same suspect involved in the domestic incident in Howard County. It has also been determined that the suspect did not discharge the shotgun at the time he was stopped by officers.
