Recent Crime Summary: A Sex Assault, Student Fight, Strong-Armed Robbery

P1 Beat:

• An attempted burglary occurred in the 9700 block of Oakdale Road between Tuesday 5/17 at 10:30 pm and Wednesday 5/18 at 9 am.  Attempted forced entry, nothing taken.

P2 Beat:

• A strong-arm robbery occurred in the 800 block of Rabbit Road on Wednesday 5/18 just after 6 pm.  The victim was assaulted and had property taken.                                                      

• An aggravated assault occurred outside of the 800 block of Quince Orchard Boulevard on Tuesday 5/17 between 6 pm and 6:30 pm.  The victim was assaulted by the suspect.

• The strong-arm robbery occurred at the intersection of Quince Orchard Road and Firstfield Road on Saturday 5/21.  The victim had property removed from a known suspect.

Arrested: Adult male, age 28, of an unknown address.

• A residential burglary occurred in the 900 block of Clopper Road on Saturday 5/21 at an unknown time.  Forced entry, property taken.

S1 Beat

• An aggravated assault occurred at Gaithersburg Elementary School, 35 North Summit Avenue, on Monday 5/23.  One student assaulted another student and was arrested.

• A commercial burglary occurred at Zio’s Restaurant at 9083 Gaither Road between Sunday 5/22 and Monday 5/23.  Forced entry, property taken.

• A commercial burglary occurred at the Tex-Mex Restaurant at 9103 Gaither Road between Sunday 5/22 and Monday 5/23.  Forced entry, property taken.

Arrested: Adult male, age 26, of no fixed address.

S2 Beat:

• A sex assault occurred on Monday 5/16 in the 18200 block of Swan Stream Drive.  The suspect is known to the victim.

• An aggravated assault occurred on Sam Eig Highway between Shady Grove Road and I270.  The suspect threatened the victim with a weapon.

• A theft occurred in the 8200 block of Beechcraft Avenue on Friday 5/20 at 8 pm.  Property was taken from outside the location.

Arrested: Adult male, age 48, of Silver Spring.

• A residential burglary occurred in the 8400 block of Mountain Laurel Lane on Wednesday 5/18 between 4 am and 6:30 am.  No forced entry, property taken.

• An attempted residential burglary occurred in the 7900 block of Coriander Drive on Friday 5/20 between 11:15 am and 11:45 am.  Attempted forced entry, nothing taken.
