Report: Former Army Ranger Gets 28 Years In Gaithersburg Shooting

Gary Smith was convicted last month of involuntary manslaughter in the 2006 shooting death of his Gaithersburg roommate, a fellow Army Ranger.

A former Army Ranger was sentenced Monday to 28 years in prison for killing his Gaithersburg roommate and fellow Ranger, The Washington Examiner reported.

Gary Smith, 29, was convicted last month of involuntary manslaughter in the 2006 shooting of 22-year-old Michael McQueen.

McQueen was fatally shot in the head after the two had been out drinking, according to the report.
