The group broke into homes and stole items from cars, The Gazette reports.

Four Gaithersburg men face charges of burglary and theft after a single-day crime spree in a Gaithersburg neighborhood, The Gazette reports.

On June 1, Gaithersburg and Montgomery County police responded to a residential burglary in the 200 block of Hutton Street at 7:05 a.m, The Gazette reported. That night, they responded to an attempted residential burglary in the 200 block of Rolling Road.

Police said the group was scared away by a dog in the second house, Gaithersburg Patch previously reported.

The same day, police received reports of thefts from about 10 vehicles in the community, according to the report.

Gaithersburg Police Officer Dan Lane told The Gazette some of the stolen items were found by police at pawn shops and tracked to the four charged.
