Sergio Hernandez, 24, robbed and assaulted people playing poker at a College Park apartment in 2011, The Gazette reported.

A 24-year-old Gaithersburg man was sentenced to 60 years in prison for his role in a violent robbery of a College Park poker game in 2011, according to a report by The Gazette.

Sergio Hernandez "was convicted on 52 of 53 counts of robbery, assault and related charges stemming from the holdup that involved Hernandez beating victims in the head with firearms before fleeing with money, cell phones, clothing and other valuables," according to the report.

Prince George’s County State’s Attorney Angela Alsobrooks said in a statement that having witnesses identify Hernandez as a gunman in the incident was a key to the conviction.
