Report: Gaithersburg Resident, Former Nonprofit Head, To Plead Guilty In Child Sex Sting

A 62-year-old Gaithersburg resident and former nonprofit head will plead guilty to charges stemming from a child-sex sting, The Washington Examiner reported.

Scott Richard Swirling was charged in January after he was caught in a sting run by a task force of FBI agents and DC police officers for traveling from Maryland to the District for purposes of engaging in sexual activity with a 12-year-old girl, according to the report.

Swirling previously served as the executive director of the American School Counselor Association and the National Family Planning & Reproductive Health Association, according to the report.
