Report: Montgomery Village Woman Sentenced For Role in Murder-for-Hire Scheme
Judge says Luisa Paiz violated her oath as a soldier, The Gazette reports.
A Montgomery Village woman was ordered to serve a year and six months behind bars for her role in a hit man case, The Gazette reports.
Luisa Paiz, 34, of Wedge Way, was acquitted in October 2013 of trying to hire a hitman to kill her son's father, Santiago Perez, in the midst of a custody battle. A masked man attacked Perez in June 2012, but a neighbor who heard the screams alerted police.
Paiz, who is in the U.S. Army, was found guilty of the lesser charges of assault and conspiracy to commit assault, Patch has reported.

Prosecutors claimed that Paiz convinced fellow soldier Khiry Blue to go after Perez. Paiz claims that she only asked Blue to “beat him up.” Blue, who pleaded guilty for attempted murder, claimed he was offered $5,000 to kill the man, Patch has reported.
A judge said that the plot violated Paiz’s “oath as a solider," the newspaper reports.

On Friday, Paiz was sentenced to 6 years, with all but 18 months suspended, online court records show.
Blue was ordered to serve 10 years, online court records show.
