At the party an argument broke out between Reyes-Hernandez and the older man, who  is from Montgomery Village, Cruz said. Rayes-Hernandez, who lives at the apartment where the fight took place, grabbed a box-cutter and began attacking the older victim.

The younger victim, from Gaithersburg, was sliced on the thumb while trying to break up the fight, Cruz said.

Reyes-Hernandez plead guilty in 2009 to driving without a license, but has no prior criminal record listed in an online court database.

The database did not list and attorney for Reyes-Hernandez.
