Victims Identified in Fatal July 4 Crash
Police: A 24-year-old Gaithersburg man died at the scene.
Montgomery County police have identified the man and woman whose car overturned on East Diamond Avenue shortly after 1:30 a.m. Thursday in Gaithersburg.
Shayne R. Johnson, 24, of Emory Grove Road in Gaithersburg, died at the scene, according to a police news release. Jean Marie Pollard, 28, of Birchtree Lane in the Aspen Hill area of Silver Spring, was transported to a local hospital.
The two were ejected from the SUV after first hitting a utility pole, a bus stop, a tree, a fire hydrant and a pole support cable, police said.
