WATCH: Police Release Surveillance Video of Gaithersburg Chipotle Robbery

The Chipotle restaurant located at 564 North Frederick Avenue (in the Gaithersburg Square Shopping Center) was robbed on Oct. 21.

Seeking help from the public, Montgomery County Police Friday released video surveillance of the Oct. 21 armed robbery of the Chipotle restaurant at 564 North Frederick Avenue in Gaithersburg.

Detectives said the suspect entered the rear door of the business at night as an employee was using the door to dispose of trash.

The suspect displayed a handgun and forced employees into an office where the suspect then ordered the manager to open the restaurant safe and removed an undisclosed amount of cash, police said. The suspect fled on foot toward the Montgomery County fairgrounds.

Police describe the suspect as a black male, approximately 6 feet 1 to 6 feet 3 inches tall, weighing approximately 250 to 270 pounds, and wearing a plaid shirt and dark pants. The suspect had a white covering over his face.
