City Budget Workshop Scheduled for Monday

The Gaithersburg City Council and Mayor Sidney Katz will discuss the fiscal year 2013 budget at a public hearing on Monday night.

Gaithersburg residents will get a chance to speak out about the proposed , which, if adopted, would take effect later this summer for fiscal year 2013.

The Gaithersburg City Council will hold a public hearing at 7:30 p.m. Monday in .

The proposal represents a 7.8 percent increase over the fiscal year 2012 adopted budget. According to the city's website, though, the property tax rate would remain the same under the budget proposal. The tax rate is currently set at $0.262 per $100 of assessed value.
