Gaithersburg Election Packets for Potential Candidates

Gaithersburg residents will cast their ballots for three City Council Members on Tuesday, November 8, 2011. Residents interested in running for office in the November 8 City of Gaithersburg elections can pick up a candidatess packet between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. at City Hall, 31 South Summit Avenue, on or after Monday, July 11, 2011.  Packets can also be downloaded, click here.

Candidates must file a petition of nomination with the City Board of Supervisors of Elections via the City Attorney's Office.  The petition must be signed by at least 100 City residents who are qualified voters.  

Petitions and associated documents must be returned to the City Attorney’s Office by 5 p.m. on Monday, September 19, 2011 in order for a candidate to be included on the ballot.
