Gaithersburg Releases Parks, Recreation and Culture Annual Report

The city of Gaithersburg released its fiscal year 2012 Parks, Recreation and Culture report.

According to the city, highlights of FY12 include:

  • The completion of major renovations to the Water Park, Senior Center and Community Museum.
  • Installation of four new public artworks at locations throughout the City.
  • Outstanding customer reviews.
  • A recovery of 49 percent of costs, exceeding the national average of 34 percent.
  • Volunteer contributions in excess of 27,000 hours, valued at more than $430,000.
  • More than 600,000 attendees/participants in City programs including classes, theater, sports, and special events.
