Holiday Giving Program Helps Hundreds

Nearly 800 families received donations.

More than 800 Gaithersburg families received donations this year from the City's Holiday Giving program.

In coordination with the County-wide Holiday Giving program, the City collected donations that were then handed out to needy families in Gaithersburg.

More than 430 families lined up at the Bohrer Park Activity Center earlier this month and received retail and grocery store gift cards, fresh fruit, books, and stockings filled with toys and trinkets, among other gifts.

The Marine Corps Toys for Tots program donated more than 700 gifts, and Butlers Orchard, Capital One, Payless ShoeSource, the Reading Tree, Inc., and St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church also supported the program.

A second distribution took place at Grace United Methodist Church, where nearly 450 gifts were distributed to needy children.
