On the Agenda: Rezoning, Safe Boating Week, Essay Contest Winner

The Gaithersburg City Council will meet at 7:30 p.m. in City Hall.

The public will get an opportunity to weigh in on the potential annexation of a 28-acre property on Shady Grove Road.

, 16331 Shady Grove Road, is currently located on land zoned for research and development purposes. Sears and Roebuck, Co., the parent company, is petitioning the city to re-zone the property to mixed-use development.

No decision will be made about the annexation at the council's Monday meeting. The public comment period on the issue will be open for 45 days.
