On The Agenda: Future Plans For MidCounty Highway

The Montgomery County Division of Transportation Engineering will be briefing the mayor and City Council on the MidCounty Corridor Study

At Monday evening's Gaithersburg mayor and City Council work session, city officials will be briefed on future plans for the MidCounty Highway, according to the meeting agenda.

Bruce Johnston, Chief of the Montgomery County Division of Transportation Engineering, will discuss the potential extension of MidCounty Highway as a Frederick Avenue alternative link between Clarksburg and Shady Grove.

In 2007, 11 alternatives for the extension were developed. This number was reduced to six alternatives retained for detailed study, and three of the six have direct impacts on the city, according to the agenda.
