On The Agenda: Izaak Walton League Rezoning and More

The Gaithersburg mayor and City Council will meet Monday night at 7:30 p.m. in City Hall.

The Gaithersburg mayor and City Council will decide the fate of a 33.54 acre section of the Izaak Walton League of America property at Monday evening's mayor and City Council meeting.

The IWL hopes the section, currently zoned as Low Density Residential, will be rezoned as a Mixed Use Development Zone to permit a proposed mix of uses, including the two existing residential units and out buildings, philanthropic and office uses in the existing 3-story building, and a telecommunications facility, according to city documents.

The property is located at 700, 704 and 707 Conservation Lane, off Muddy Branch Road, home of the IWL's national headquarters.
