On The Agenda: Transit Task Force Presentation, Reforestation Policy

Gaithersburg City Council also will hold a closed session after Monday's work session to discuss personnel matters.

The Gaithersburg City Council has posted a notice that it will hold a closed session after Monday night's 7:30 work session at The Council will discuss options regarding the transition of acting City Manager Tony Tomasello, said Mayor Sidney Katz at last week's Council meeting.

The Council also will also hear:

  • A presentation from the Montgomery County Executive's Transit Task Force on the potential of using a multiple-line rapid transit vehicle (RTV) system to help reduce congestion, improve the environment, and support economic development. (View the presentation as a PDF on the right.)
  • Discussion on the city's public lands reforestation policy. Environmental planners will ask the city whether to continue reforestation efforts -- and if so, whether it agrees with recategorizing existing sites -- and how to proceed with the West Riding area near
