Report: Gaithersburg Human Resources Director Fired By City
Gaithersburg Human Resources Director Margaret Daily's last day with the city of Gaithersburg was Feb. 2, The Town Courier reported.
Gaithersburg's longtime Director of Human Resources, Margaret Daily, is no longer with the city, according to a report by The Town Courier.
Daily's last day with the city was Feb. 2, and she was terminated by City Manager Tony Tomasello, according to the report.
Daily, who has worked for the city of Gaithersburg for 28 years, including 17 as its Director of Human Resources, coordinated the city's search for a new city manager following the June resignation of former city manager Angel Jones.

According to the report, Daily said "it was my opinion that Tony was not the most qualified candidate for the position, and he was aware of that.”
Daily was not involved in the city's final decision and told The Town Courier her relation with Tomasello suffered because of the hiring process. She said she understood how he might feel.
