Report: Rabid Raccoon Found Dead in Gaithersburg

Animal Control is advising anyone who might have had contact with the animal to contact the Montgomery County Health Department.

A rabid raccoon was on the loose in Gaithersburg last week, according to a report in The Gazette. Animal Control officers found the animal dead June 27.

Animal Control officials are recommending that anyone who had contact with the raccoon in the past several weeks contact the Montgomery County Health Department immediately at 240-777-1755. For pets that may have had contact with the animal, call Gaithersburg Animal Control at 301-258-6343.
