Report: Watkins Mill Interchange To See Infusion Of State Funds

Gov. Martin O'Malley announced the funding Monday in Bethesda.

New state funding is on the way for the Watkins Mill Interchange project that could finally get the project off the ground, The Gazette reported.

Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley said the project will receive $125 million, helping create jobs and relieve traffic, according to the report.

The funding is part of an approximately $1 billion state investment in transportation funding for Montgomery County.

The Watkins Mill Interchange project is expected to cost around $165 million.
