Report: Why is Montgomery County Late in Posting Tax Bills?

The Gazette: Property tax bills are about a week late this year.

Why is your property tax bill late this year? Because the state was late getting information to Montgomery County and they were late getting a bill to you, The Gazette reports.

Property tax bills that are usually posted on July 1 of each year should be mailed and posted online by July 9, the newspaper reported. Montgomery County’s Department of Finance did not receive assessment information from the state until the end of June, which pushed the process back.
