Economic Development Short Course Training Series
Economic Development Short Course Training Series being offered by the School of Architecture, Planning, and Preservation at the University of Maryland, College Park and the Maryland Economic Development Association. The Training Series will be held at the Universities at Shady Grove on August 1 – 4, 2011.
The training series explores the concepts, tools, and methods you need to understand Regional Innovation Clusters analyze regional networks, and to plan more efficient, more effective regional development strategies. The training series is designed for a broad range of planning professionals and practitioners. In addition to appealing to planning and economic development agencies the training would be of interest to economic development consulting firms and non-profits like community development corporations (CDCs). These are hands-on "how-to" courses, attendees need only be familiar and comfortable with Excel. The courses are introductory, designed to help get people started in each of the topics, to understand the basics, and to know where to go for answers as they advance their expertise.
