Gaithersburg Girls Lose To Whitman, Fall Short Of Three-Peat
The No. 1 Gaithersburg High School Lady Trojans were defeated by No. 2 Whitman in the 4A West region finals.
The top-seeded Gaithersburg High School Lady Trojans were eliminated Friday in the 4A West region final by No. 2 Whitman, The Gazette reported.
The Lady Trojans trailed throughout the game, getting as close as an 8-point deficit in the final quarter before losing 46-31.
Gaithersburg star Deja Rollins had 11 points before fouling out, according to the report.

“We just couldn’t get any shots and Whitman was executing,” Trojans coach Adrian McDaniel told The Gazette. “They had a great game plan and they executed. The first half, we scored one point in the first quarter — that was a season low — and we could hardly score in the second quarter. It just wasn’t our night.”
