She was named First Team All-Met at guard.  Marshall will attend and play basketball for Loyola University Maryland on a full basketball scholarship.

Marshall was unable to attend the luncheon due to a prior commitment.

During the luncheon, The Post paid tribute to the First Team All-Met selections in baseball, boys and girls basketball, boys and girls cross country, field hockey, football, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, boys and girls indoor track, boys and girls lacrosse, boys and girls rowing, boys and girls soccer, softball, boys and girls tennis, boys and girls swimming, boys and girls track and field, volleyball and wrestling.

The highlight of the luncheon was the keynote speech by former Washington Redskin linebacker and current DC sports radio celebrity LaVar Arrington.

Arrington provided the audience with some background on his life and career, including his selection as the Parade High School Player of the Year.  He then encouraged all of the exemplary student athletes in attendance to commit to five key attributes in the future:  to love; to dream; to believe; to be courageous; and to persevere.

Arrington reminded the student athletes that people will be paying attention to each of them, and he asked them to make sure they understand how their actions inspire others.

Arrington closed by quoting famed author Ralph Waldo Emerson, stating, "Make the most of yourself, for that is all there is of you."
