2011 Fall Skate Fest Competition

The Gaithersburg Skate Park invites skaters of all levels to the 2011 Fall Skate Fest. Local skate shops and teams including Charmcity, Convoy and Roll, are donating prizes, judging, and selling merchandise at the event.  There will be a prize drawing and a chance to win killer items donated by DC101, including video games and DVDs.  The registration fee for competitors holding an annual membership to the park is $10; non-member registration is $15.  Sign-up and payment can be made in advance or on the day of event.  Space is limited, and registrations will be processed on a first come, first served basis.  There is no admission fee for spectators.  .      

Contestants may choose from any of the three events:  Beginner, Intermediate or Advanced Skateboarding.  Skaters will be competing for a chance to place 1st, 2nd, or 3rd and win Visa gift cards worth $100, $50 and $25 respectively.  Judging is based on style, consistency and technical presentation.  Participants may not enter multiple events.  Practice time will be allotted before each event. Each participant will receive two one-minute runs through the course and scores will be tallied after each run, with the best score being used.  All contestants must sign a Skate Fest registration form, and skaters under the age of 18 must have the form signed by their parent or legal guardian.
