Jr. Rangers

Seneca Creek State Park’s Junior Ranger Summer Program is part of a statewide effort to get youth actively involved in Maryland’s natural resources. This program specifically aims to teach youth ages 8 to 14 about Seneca Creek State Park history, plants, and animals residents, while focusing on environmental stewardship. After the completion of the program participants will earn a Junior Ranger badge, and certificate.

This six week summer program will meet every Wednesday from 9:00am to 12:00pm, and between 1pm to 4pm between the dates of June 20th, and August 1st, 2012. The morning session will be for ages 8-11 and the afternoon session will be for ages 12-14.  There will not be a session on Wednesday July 4th.  On August 4th, the Saturday following the last session, the participants and their families are invited to a campfire gathering.  We will then award Junior Ranger badges and certificates in acknowledgment of the participant’s achievements.
