Rain Postpones Gaithersburg, QO Playoff Games

Gaithersburg High School's varsity baseball and softball games for Monday have been postponed along with Quince Orchard's varsity baseball game.

Monday's steady rain has prevented some county sporting events from getting underway.

The Trojans' No. 9-ranked baseball team was set to face No. 1 Whitman at 6 p.m. in Bethesda. The school's No. 4-ranked softball team was also preparing for Whitman, the No. 5 seed, at Gaithersburg at 4 p.m.

QO's No. 2-ranked baseball team was set to host No. 7 Churchill at 4 p.m.

All games have been tentatively rescheduled for Tuesday, May 15 at the same time and location, pending weather.

At the time of this post, QO's top-ranked girl's lacrosse team was yet to find out if its 5:15 p.m. game against No. 4 Howard is postponed.

The No. 11 QO boy's lacrosse team travels to face No. 10 Urbana at 7 p.m. The game was moved to Linganore due to weather, where the game can be played on an artificial turf.
