Recruiting Roundup: Gaithersburg Running Back Commits to Pitt

Running back Rachid Ibrahim of The Avalon School in Gaithersburg announces decision to continue his football career at the University of Pittsburgh.

A Gaithersburg athlete announced Thursday his intention to play collegiate football at a school in Maryland's neighbor to the north.

Running back Rachid Ibrahim, of The Avalon School, verbally committed to the University of Pittsburgh, according to a report by The Pitt Stop.

Ibrahim, an Avalon senior, is ranked by Rivals.com and ESPN as a three-star prospect. According to ESPN, Ibrahim "runs with the slashing style and playing speed which allows him to rip off huge gains once in the open field... his toughness and playing speed could earn him early playing time if a red shirt year isn't deemed necessary."
