Summer Art Exhibitions

For this Summer I have a number of exhibits that are currently on view throughout the MD / DC area. On Tuesday June 11 we will have an opening reception at the Gaithersburg Arts Barn from 7 - 8:30 PM.

The exhibit is titled "Instructor Vian Shamounki Borchert and her Acrylic Painting Students".

I have two paintings on exhibit: one of John Lennon titled "John Lennon: Love Triumphs”, and the other a landscape of our beautiful Spring titled "Cherry Blossoms".

Along my work, the paintings of my Acrylic Students are on display.

Come to the reception where food and refreshments are served along with music. The Arts Barn always has wonderful local musicians playing instruments such as the harp or the guitar which adds a wonderful musical touch to the reception's ambiance. Come by and meet me and the Acrylic students who have been working really hard these past couple of months on their beautiful paintings.

One of my attempts and goals as an art educator is to spread art, and educate the people around me especially within the community I live in about the importance of art in our lives - how creating art can be so important to the soul. In simple words, let's make a simile: art is like to the soul is what food is for our bodies= Good and healthy energy. How about this food for thought - art inspires our intellectual nourishment.

The exhibit is currently on view at the Gaithersburg Arts Barn, MD till July 28.

For the Summer, I will be teaching the following three evening classes at the Gaithersburg Arts Barn. Classes start July 8, and registration is now open.

I will be teaching Drawing, Watercolor and Acrylic Painting to adults (14 years and older).

Moreover, I currently have a solo Art show where I have around 23 paintings on display in Washington, D.C.

The Exhibition is titled “Hopes and Dreams” and is at The Jerusalem Fund Gallery.

Exhibit is till July 12.
