This organization cares deeply for this community and its pets.

I've been so impressed with the dedication and energy of this all-volunteer staff and top-notch leadership. I have said since the day that AWLMC was founded that its cats are the luckiest in the world. But AWL does more than just staff an innovative no-kill shelter; it is very active in such important work as spay neuter, pet food banks, and community outreach and education.

The AWLMC provides a home for cats waiting to be adopted. The home is actually a house with rooms that allow the cats to play and bask in the sun. The organization also subsidizes low cost spay/neuters for cats and small dogs. Chompers provides food for low income families with cats and dogs. This is an amazing all- volunteer organization

This is a wonderful no-kill shelter/rescue/food (dogs, too!)/low-cost spay-neuter (dogs, too!) non-profit for cats & residents of Montgomery County. The shelter in Olde Towne Gaithersburg is a roomy, airy house, with cats in big rooms with screen doors and at least 2 windows each. Kittens are always fostered to get extra care and attention. They are also now on the Combined Federal Campaign listing. These cats & kittens have it good, but loving forever homes are the best. Also adoption events at Kentlands PetSmart.

Great place to find your forever friend! The shelter is a remodeled house, so it feels comfortable and friendly to people as well as cats. It's unlike any other animal shelter around here. The cats are healthy, happy, and well cared for. And it's a no-kill shelter, so the cats are safe until they find their family.

This place is amazing!! The cats are well cared for and are loved until they find a family of their own. All the volunteers are helpful and enjoy what they do and are thrilled when a kitty finds their forever home.
Another great thing is the adopters stay in touch and send pictures!

This shelter provides great care for cats while they wait to find their ideal home. There is NO SMELL when you walk in even though a number of cats live there. They have health check ups and are played with regularly so the volunteers get to know them and that helps when you want to adopt a cat. If you want a lap cat they can tell you which cats want a lap! Fun place to go!

A wonderful organization and a great place to visit to see cats playing in a home-like setting. Easy to pick a cat to adopt since you can sit in a comfortable chair or on a sofa, hold the cat in your lap, play with the cat using toys that are all around and see the cat interact with other cats.
