Gaithersburg Man Pleads Guilty To Obstructing Investigation

He tried to cover up a homicide in Hyattsville in 2007.

A Gaithersburg man pleaded guilty this week to trying to cover up a murder near Hyattsville, the Gazette reports. Jose Edy Molina Marquez, a member of the 18th Street gang, said he was guilty of conspiracy to obstruct a criminal investigation and proceeding in connection with the investigation of a murder. He faces up to 20 years in prison. A sentencing hearing is set for April 11. On the night of May 5, 2007, Marquez, three other gang members and Jose Felix Carcamo got into Marquez's car, the plea agreement says. Marquez, 32, drove while the other gang members attacked and shot Carcamo twice in the head.
