Ride On Bus Crash Halts Traffic Thursday Along Muddy Branch Road

Southbound Muddy Branch Road was closed for a short time between Harmony Hall Road and W. Diamond Avenue after a Nissan Maxima rear-ended a Ride On bus, police said.

Traffic along southbound Muddy Branch Road between Harmoney Hall Road and W. Diamond Avenue was halted for a brief time Thursday afternoon because of a collision involving a Nissan Maxima and a Ride On bus, Montgomery County police said. Police said the Maxima, driven by a 19-year-old male, crashed into the back of the bus around 12:45 p.m. when the driver failed to see that the bus was stopped and unloading passengers in the lane in front of him. The driver of the Maxima had to be extricated from the vehicle and was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, police said. Report: Pedestrians Struck Monday Evening On Rt. 355 In Gaithersburg

A man and a woman were struck by a vehicle on Rt. 355 between Oneill and Shady Grove roads, ABC 7 reported.

A man and a woman were struck by a vehicle Monday evening in the southbound lanes of Rt. 355 in Gaithersburg, police told ABC 7. The accident occurred about 8:30 p.m. between Oneill and Shady Grove roads, according to the report. "The man went through the windshield and had to be extricated. Both were taken to trauma centers in serious condition," according to the report. Approximately two hours earlier, a man in his 30s was struck by a vehicle and seriously injured in Germantown. Pedestrian Struck by Truck on I-270

Man transported to hospital with traumatic injuries; portion of highway closed

A pedestrian was struck by a truck traveling south on Interstate 270, near Old Hundred Road in Clarksburg. The victim, an adult male, may have been tending to a disabled vehicle. He was transported to the hospital with traumatic injuries, according to Cpt. Oscar Garcia, a spokesman for Montgomery County Fire & Rescue Service. Garcia said rescuers were dispatched at around noon. Montgomery County Police and Maryland State Police were investigating the incident. A portion of the highway was shut down, though as of 1 p.m. southbound traffic appeared to be moving slowly, Garcia said. Patch will update this story as more information becomes available.
