Gaithersburg Couple Charged in Chipotle Burglaries

Lamont Alexander Bonds and Marvel Alegria were charged in connection with robberies at Chipotle restaurants in Gaithersburg and Damascus.

Montgomery County police announced Friday the arrest of a Gaithersburg couple in connection to an Oct. 21, robbery of a Gaithersburg Chipotle Restaurant and a Nov. 25 robbery of the same restaurant chain in Damascus. During the investigation of the Oct. 21 robbery, a former employee of a Mount Airy Chipotle, identified as Marvel Alegria, was developed as a possible suspect, police said. Alegria, 22, had been terminated from her job and subsequently made threats to retaliate. Alegria had also spoken to others about committing a robbery, police said. Lamont Alexander Bonds, Alegria’s boyfriend, was suspected of entering the restaurant and committing the robbery. After thrashing Damascus 6-0, Watkins Mill hosts Urbana on Thursday night in the Maryland 3A West semifinal.

Watkins Mill boys’ soccer launched its chase for a first-ever championship in overwhelming fashion against Damascus, pouring in six goals while giving up hardly a shot. The Wolverines forced the issue in Tuesday night's regional quarterfinal with a relentless pressure and a barrage of shots that goalkeeper Alex Werhle and the Damascus defense could fend the Wolverines off for only so long. Under the unflagging attack, the Damascus back line started to falter, missing chances to clear the ball and leaving Wolverines unmarked in dangerous positions.
