Man Dies After Being Run Down By Car In Gaithersburg

Montgomery County police are investigating the death as a homicide.

Montgomery County police are investigating the early Wednesday vehicle-related death of a 34-year-old man in Gaithersburg as a homicide. Police responded to the report of a pedestrian struck on West Diamond Avenue at 1:17 a.m. and found a deceased victim at 211 West Diamond Avenue, police said. A surviving, 34-year-old victim was found a short distance away. The surviving 34-year-old told police he and his brother — the deceased — were given a ride by subjects in a black Honda Civic earlier in the morning, police said. As they were walking along West Diamond Avenue, they were struck by a black Honda Civic, police said. Man Gets Four Years in Fatal Rockville Pike Hit and Run

A College Park resident who pleaded guilty in a hit and run that killed a Gaithersburg man riding a scooter on Rockville Pike in September was sentenced Friday to four years in prison, The Gazette reported.  Michael Charles Dalton Jr. pleaded guilty March 1 to homicide by motor vehicle while under the influence. Roberto Nassar, 30, of the unit block of South Frederick Road in Gaithersburg, died as a result of injuries suffered in the Sept. 22 crash. A police investigation found that Nassar was on a scooter traveling northbound on Rockville Pike near Edmonston Drive when the scooter was hit from behind by a tan 1997 Buick LeSabre. Man Pleads Guilty in Fatal Rockville Pike Hit and Run

The man charged in a fatal hit and run on Rockville Pike in September faces up to 10 years in prison after he pleaded guilty to homicide by motor vehicle while under the influence. Michael Charles Dalton Jr. entered the guilty plea in Montgomery County Circuit Court in Rockville on March 1, The Gazette reported this week. Dalton, 23, from Perkasie, Pa., was living in College Park at the time of the incident. Roberto Nassar, 30, of the unit block of South Frederick Road in Gaithersburg, was operating a motor scooter northbound on Rockville Pike near Edmonston Drive when police say it was struck from behind by a tan 1997 Buick LeSabre driven by Dalton. Nassar was thrown from the scooter. He was taken to a local hospital where he died.  …
