Several parking spaces on Main Street where it intersects Market Street East and on Golden Ash Way where it intersects Market Street East are slated to be removed in the coming weeks, according to the report. The issue had been brought to several Lakelands boards by neighborhood residents over the years, said Gary Simon, operations manager at Comsource, the community’s property management company, The Town Courier reported. “The primary concern revolved around the high rate of speed with which people drove through the community. In particular, Golden Ash [Way] was of…

The Kentlands business had been planning to move to a new location on Main Street.
After spending much of the summer preparing to move to another location on Main Street in the Kentlands, Pritchard Music Academy announced Wednesday it was all for naught. "We were two days away from signing a lease agreement at a new location a few blocks from here when we had a last-minute meeting with our current landlord and were able to come to a long-term agreement," PMA Vice President Joe Pritchard said. PMA is located at 325 Main Street. An impasse in lease renewal negotiations led to the point where PMA's landlord had put a banner up over its front door saying the space was for lease, Pritchard told Patch. Despite the dispute and brief uncertainly that followed, Pritchard said he never planned to move PMA out of the Kentlands. "…

After two full days of road closures, many Main Street businesses are aching for customers.
The sun is shining, parking lot F has some open spaces, and most of the shops on Ellicott City's Main Street, a regional tourism destination, are open for business. “I’d hope that people would come on down and walk down [to lower Main Street],” Sue O’Connor said, standing behind the counter at The Wine Bin. “It’s lovely weather. Go shopping.” Two days after a CSX train derailed in Ellicott City, killing two 19-year-old women and shutting down Main Street at the Baltimore County Border, business is picking up in the Historic District. Slowly. Business at the Wine Bin was not too adversely affected, O'Connor said, because the store's location near Ellicott Mills Road, right next to parking lot F. Other businesses have felt the squeeze. …

I wonder if this new owner at the 44 location will provide terrible service, terrible food, dirty bathrooms, poor management and a strangely overpriced menu like the previous four owners! Sadly, they will, and they will be gone after a year. Lease too high + the false presumption that their clientele will spend $$ = prices too high = failure. A formula that has repeated itself in that location …   more ›
