U.S. Congressman John Sarbanes met with Everett Davis, Assistant Principal at Montgomery Village Middle School, who was named the 2013 Maryland Assistant Principal of the Year.

Everett Davis, the Montgomery Village Middle School assistant principal named 2013 Maryland Assistant Principal of the Year, met Thursday with U.S. Congressman John Sarbanes (D-Md.). Davis is participating in the National Association of Secondary School’s Assistant Principals Week, along with other winners from around the country. “We count on principals to create the best environment for learning in our schools – not only as administrators, but also as instructional leaders,” Congressman Sarbanes said in a statement. “Mr. Davis is a stellar example of a public servant who has dedicated his life to helping Maryland students learn the skills they need to succeed in their education.” Davis, who had worked at Gaithersburg Middle School, was …

Former Gaithersburg Middle Assistant Principal Named Maryland's Best

Everett Davis, now at Montgomery Village Middle School, was named Maryland's best assistant principal, The Gazette reported.

Montgomery Village Middle School assistant principal Everett Davis was selected as the state assistant principal of the year for 2013, according to a report by The Gazette. Davis, who had worked at Gaithersburg Middle School, was nominated for the award by Gaithersburg Middle's principal, Carol Goddard, prior to leaving his post for Montgomery Village Middle earlier this year. “I knew that he had every capability of being chosen,” Goddard told The Gazette. “He’ll take what he knows and help build some programs over there.”  Davis was very influential during his five-year tenure at Gaithersburg Middle, forming a mentoring group for male students that took trips to Montgomery College, L’Academie de Cuisine in Gaithersburg and the White House…
