Report: Gaithersburg Woman Accused Of Selling Sex With Teenage Daughter

The Gazette: Prosecutors say a 44-year-old Gaithersburg man paid $100 for sex with the girl.

A Montgomery County grand jury has indicted a Gaithersburg woman on charges that she prostituted her daughter in order to pay a debt, The Gazette reported. Bejarni Rivas, 44, of Gaithersburg, paid the mother $100 each time to have sex with the victim, according to charging documents cited in the report. The alleged incidents occurred in the men's changing room at the Georgian Colonies Club House in Silver Spring between December and March, the report said. Rivas is charged with 13 counts of rape, sexual abuse, and other charges, The Gazette reported. The mother is charged with 11 similar counts, and was being held in jail on $275,000 bond. UPDATED: Missing Gaithersburg Woman, Child Located

Alyona Joy Mayo and her 2-week-old daughter were reported missing Wednesday.

Updated 7:14 p.m.: A missing Gaithersburg woman and her 2-week-old daughter were located Thursday, a Montgomery County police spokeswoman said. Alyona Joy Mayo, 20, and daughter, Syrena Mayo, were reported missing by family members who said they hadn’t seen Mayo since Wednesday night. Police said in a news release that Mayo functioned at the level of an 11-year-old. Montgomery County police Officer Janelle Smith said the missing person alert was cancelled at 5:30 p.m.  A representative from Lakeforest Mall said in an email that Mayo was found at the shopping center. Gaithersburg Man Killed in Derwood Crash

Standford Wilson Jr., 61, died from his injuries, Montgomery County police said.

(UPDATED) A Gaithersburg man was killed in a single-vehicle crash in Derwood on Friday. According to police, Standford Wilson Jr., 61, of the 20000 block of Mattingly Terrace, died at a local hospital from injuries he suffered when his BMW X5 veered off Shady Grove Road and struck several trees and a fence. The crash occurred at around 12:20 p.m., just west of Muncaster Mill Road. Police have not determined what caused Wilson’s vehicle to leave the roadway. The fatal crash shut down the westbound lane of Shady Grove Road, between Mill Run and Muncaster Mill. Police have asked that anyone with information about this crash call 240-773-6620. Man Arrested For Series Of Robberies In Gaithersburg, Montgomery County

A 52-year-old Germantown man was arrested for 10 commercial robberies and two street robberies in Montgomery County.

A Germantown man suspected of 10 commercial robberies and two street robberies in Montgomery County — including four in the Gaithersburg area — was arrested during a traffic stop in Gaithersburg Feb. 17, Montgomery County police announced Wednesday. Duane James, 52, of the 18600 block of Mustard Seed Court, was charged with two counts of armed robbery, having a handgun in a vehicle and the use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, police said. After his arrest, James was charged with nine additional armed robbery charges and three first-degree assault charges. The string of robberies occurred throughout the county between Dec. 27 and Feb. 17, police said. James was arrested after reports of two armed robberies committed minutes apart…
