A 51-year-old Anne Arundel County man was arrested Tuesday at a New York airport in connection with the killing of a Frederick County man who was found dead in the trunk of his car near the Shady Grove Metro station in December, Maryland State Police announced in a press release. Michael A. Stahlnecker, of the 1700 block of Fallsway Drive in Crofton, is charged with first-degree murder, second-degree murder, first-degree assault, second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony/violent crime, police said. A 37-year-old man who was found dead in the trunk of his car parked in a Montgomery County parking lot died from two gunshot wounds to the head, The Gazette reported. The body of John P. Ryan, of Frederick, MD, was found Dec. 3 in the trunk of his 2007 Lexus, police said. An undisclosed amount of cash and marijuana also was in the trunk. The car was found parked in a parking lot used by multiple businesses in the 15000 block of Somerville Drive in Derwood, MD. A Gaithersburg man was acquitted Monday of first-degree murder by a Montgomery County in the May shooting death of his son, The Gazette reported. Wayne Matthew Price, 51, was also acquitted of second-degree murder, manslaughter and a handgun offense in the May 5 killing of 23-year-old Matthew Eugene Price. “He can celebrate, but he has still had a significant loss to his family,” Steven Kupferberg, Price’s defense attorney, said after hearing the verdict at 6 p.m. Monday, according to the report. “He will always have to live with that loss.” Read the full story on The Gazette. Ryan, 37, was found Monday afternoon in the trunk of his black 2007 Lexus LS460L, police said. The car was found parked in a parking lot used by multiple businesses in the 15000 block of Somerville Drive in Derwood, MD. A Montgomery County Circuit Court Judge sentenced David Hang to life in prison without parole for the May 2011 killing of Hang's 12-year-old stepdaughter in Gaithersburg, The Washington Post reported. Hang was found guilty in August, when prosecutors said Hang killed the child with a sword — stabbing her more than 40 times — to get back at Nguyen's family, who contested his divorce of the girl's mother, Khen Kim Vu, in 2010. Prosecutors will not seek the death penalty for a man accused of killing a Germantown mother and her 11-year-old son, the Montgomery County State’s Attorney’s Office told Patch. Defense attorneys referenced the decision during a pre-trial hearing, The Washington Times and several other news outlets reported. Curtis Lopez, 46, was indicted on two counts murder, two counts kidnapping and robbery, Patch has reported. He is accused of killing his estranged wife, Jane McQuain, in her Germantown apartment and beating to death her son, William, whose body was found in a wooded area of Clarksburg. The trial for a man charged in the killing of his 12-year-old stepdaughter in her Gaithersburg home began Tuesday, according to a report by The Gazette. David Rich Hang, 43, was arrested and charged with the murder of Jessica Nguyen, a Gaithersburg Middle School student, on Oct. 18, 2011, nearly five months after the girl was found stabbed to death in her basement.
