UPDATED: Former Gaithersburg Area Teacher Accused Of Molesting Boys

Nathaniel Morales is accused of molesting boys during in Gaithersburg in the 1980s and 90s.

(Update: Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2:10 p.m.) The man accused of molesting boys during his time was never a pastor or teacher affiliated with the Covenant Life Church, according to a statement released through the church's blog Wednesday morning. The statement says, in part: The reports contain allegations that this abuse occurred when Mr. Morales was a teacher, erroneously implying that he was a teacher at Covenant Life School. The reports fail to state that Mr. Morales, though a church member at the time, was never a pastor in Covenant Life Church nor a teacher in Covenant Life School. Rather, Mr. Morales was a teacher employed by an independent private school in Montgomery County not affiliated with Covenant Life Church or School. Contrary to …

Suspicious Incidents Upcounty May Be Linked to Germantown Rapes

Police: Burglaries, assaults reported in Gaithersburg, Germantown fit general description of sexual assaults against 86, and 68-year-old Germantown residents.

(UPDATED 5:45 p.m.) Police said Friday they are investigating whether a recent string of suspicious incidents in upper Montgomery County could be linked to sexual assaults against women in Germantown. Montgomery County police said detectives believe a burglary and sexual assault reported in Gaithersburg on Aug. 28, 2011, a break-in and knife assault in Germantown on Sept. 2, and a peeping tom incident in Gaithersburg on Sept. 22 have similarities to earlier incidents involving rapes against older women in Germantown. They said all the incidents were against lone female victims, were carried out late in the day and occurred via access through an unlocked door or window. Police Release Sketch of Suspect in Gaithersburg Rape

A 21-year-old woman was raped July 9 in Green Farm Conservation Park, police say.

Montgomery County Police released a sketch Monday of a possible suspect in a July 9 rape in the Laytonsville area of Gaithersburg. Police said they were called to Green Farm Conservation Park, located at 8711 Snouffer School Road, at approximately 5:05 p.m. Monday, July 9 by a 21-year-old female who told police she was at the lake behind Hadley Farms community pool when she was attacked by an unknown male. Members of the Hadley Farms community were stunned by the incident, with some saying it was the first in nearly 20 years. Community Shocked Over Alleged Rape in Neighboring Park

Members of Hadley Farms community expressed disbelief about what police say was a rape Monday afternoon at a neighboring park.

In her 20 years living in Gaithersburg's Hadley Farms community, Ginger Mclelland said she hasn't seen or heard of anything like what police say was a rape Monday afternoon at a conservation park behind the community's pool. "No, never." Mclelland, 55, told Patch. "I'm shocked." Montgomery County police say a 21-year-old woman was attacked at approximately 5:05 p.m. on Monday, July 9, while at one of Green Farm Conservation Park's lakes. UPDATED: Police Investigate Alleged Rape Near Hadley Farms

A young woman was allegedly raped at Green Farm Conservation Park, behind the Hadley Farms community pool on Monday afternoon.

Update—10:55 a.m. Detectives from Montgomery County Police Department's Major Crimes Division Tuesday were investigating the report of a rape at the Green Farm Conservation Park, located at 8711 Snouffer School Road in Gaithersburg, according to a news release. Police said they were called to the park at approximately 5:05 p.m. Monday, July 9 by a 21-year-old female who told police she was at the lake behind Hadley Farms community pool when she was attacked by an unknown male. The suspect was armed with a knife and sexually assaulted the woman, police said. The suspect was last seen leaving the park on foot in the direction of Brenish Drive.
